This gorgeous slice of wood is from a Red Cedar tree. The bark is still attached to the edges giving this piece a rustic feel. I have hand burned a delicate vine of wild roses onto this cedar slice with lots of tiny details. The flowers I’ve painted a pretty pale pink ombre and the leaves a rich dark green. Two coats of polyurethane have been applied to help protect against the elements. I recommend to avoid displaying this piece in direct UV light as this will cause the burn and paint to fade. With proper care this fancy slice of roses will last many years, even generations. There is a keyhole carved into the back for ease of hanging. I’ve also burned my signature onto the back.
