I’ve burned this piece to honor the dedicated police who serve and protect us every day. The deep and dark burn lines add a beautiful texture to this wall hanging. I’ve chosen this wood slice specifically for this project as it fits the cap design perfectly. No color has been added to this piece in order to showcase the natural color of the wood and help the burn lines stand out. This is a “live edge” wood slice which means it still has all its bark and even some moss attached. The entire piece has been sealed with 2 coats of polyurethane. I recommend to avoid displaying in direct UV light as this will cause the burn to fade over time. There is picture hanging hardware on the back for ease of hanging.
Measures approximately 5.25in/13cm by 4.75in/12.2cm and is just over 2cm thick.
This piece took just over 3 hours to sand, sketch, burn, sand again, seal and attach hardware.
