After over 15 hours of sanding, sketching, burning and painting I am proud to be able to present this beauty of a dragonfly to you.
I’ve burned tons of tiny details into his body with deep textured shading in the wings and eyes. There are 16 flowers and lots of textured leaves surrounding the dragonfly. The body I’ve painted in multiple shades of my favorite color, teal. There are even sections painted with a shimmery teal watercolor throughout the body. If you look at him in certain angles you can catch a glimpse of the iridescent paint I’ve added to the wings. The flowers are painted in shades of pink and purple with lots of vibrant green leaves. This dragonfly has been burned onto a square poplar panel. The edges of the panel I have painted black to make the piece look like it belongs in a gallery. Two coats of polyurethane have been applied to help protect against the elements. I recommend you avoid exposure to direct UV light as this may cause the burn and paint to fade. With the proper care this piece will last for years, even generations.
