I saw these wooden dugouts and really wanted to burn them. So I purchased six and started burning. I felt this dugout had a beachy feel to it and decided to hand burn an ocean scene on both sides. One side is a daytime scene with the sun’s rays over curling waves. The other side is a nighttime scene with a moon and stars over curling waves and tons of texture in the nighttime sky. Both sides have been painted with watercolors in shimmery shades of blue with white for the waves and shades of yellow, gold and silver for the sky. I burned a faux metal frame around both scenes then painted it a metallic silver. The entire dugout has been sealed with three coats of polyurethane to help protect the paint and wood against the elements.
This dugout is made of solid beechwood with a swivel lid on top and includes a metal one hitter and cleaning poker. The metal cleaning poker is held in place with strong magnets.
