I have hand burned this rib cage and rose with deep dark outlines that add some cool texture to this piece. The rib cage is in the shape of a heart with leaves showing between the ribs and a large blooming rose on one side. I’ve painted the ribs white with grey shadows on the inside, the leaves green with darker green veins and the rose a vibrant pink with darker pink detailing. Two coats of polyurethane have been applied to help protect against the elements. I recommend keeping this piece away from direct UV light as this will cause the burn and paint to fade. The bark is still intact around the edge reminding us that this slice was once part of a whole tree. I’ve burned my signature on the back and attached a metal hanger.
